Rock band Fleetwood Mac formed in London in 1967 and achieved much of their success in the 1970s and 1980s.
Stevie Nicks is to be honoured with the BMI Icon Award, it has been announced.
The Fleetwood Mac star will receive the award at the 62nd annual BMI Pop Awards on May 13.
BMI Vice President Barbara Cane said: "Stevie Nicks is an extraordinary songwriter and pedigree artist of stunning genius and unwavering grace, on and off the stage.
"She has defined an era of pop and rock culture around the world with her brilliance and unforgettable magnificence."
The ceremony, in Beverly Hills, will feature an all-star musical tribute to Nicks, as well as giving out awards for the BMI Pop Song, Songwriter and Publisher of the Year.
Fleetwood Mac recently announced a US tour.
