"These old arms of mine

Miss having you around

Makes these tears inside

Start pouring down"

This Old Heart Of Mine - Isley Brothers

The Isley Brothers’ version of ‘This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)’ was released in 1966 during their brief time on Motown 's Tamla label. Their version peaked at number twelve on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.

The song was written by Motown 's main songwriting team Holland–Dozier–Holland alongside Sylvia Moy.

This Old Heart of Mine - Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart , a huge fan of both Motown and The Isley Brothers, recorded his cover version of ‘This Old Heart of Mine’ in 1975. It performed well in the UK, climbing to number four on the Singles Chart, but didn’t do so well in the US, reaching number 83. However, in 1989 he recorded a version of the song as a duet with Ronald Isley in 1989 and this did better in the US, reaching number 10.
