From Born To Run to Abbey Road, these are the stories behind some of the most famous album covers.
David Bowie had the photo for the 1972 album taken on a rainy night in front of the K. West fur shop at 23 Heddon Street, London. Bowie said the art had no particular meaning, but people were keen to find some anyway. "People think 'K. West' must be some sort of code for 'quest,'" Bowie said. "It took on all these sort of mystical overtones."
