Inspired To Make Some Noise
Gareth Evans conquers his fear of heights for Make Some Noise!
This year for Make Some Noise, Gareth Evans from Smooth Breakfast challenged himself to conquer his very real and very severe fear of heights!
Inspired To Make Some Noise is Gareth's journey to the top of 5 of the most iconic spires across The East Midlands in aid of Make Some Noise, who are raising funds for Children's' charities, including the Children's Bereavement Centre in Newark.
He has climbed the stairs of the Crooked Spire in Chesterfield and went out into the open at the top on a very windy afternoon! Then onto Derby Cathedral, where he emerged on the rooftop to a stunning view! On to Tuesday, when he climbed Leicester Cathedral tower (including a vertical ladder at the summit) and then onto Newark St. Mary Magdalene Church where he surpassed his personal best height and walked the entire outer walkway of the spire when he reached the top!
Finally, Wednesday 4th October was his biggest challenge – Lincoln Cathedral. Standing at 271 feet high, Gareth stepped out onto the rooftop and faced his most challenging view of all!
