The 1994 movie is getting a remake and we couldn't be happier!
Following the massive success of Disney's live action remake of 'The Jungle Book', they have now confirmed 'The Lion King' is next in the pipeline.
"We can officially confirm that The Walt Disney Studios and director Jon Favreau are putting a new reimagining of The Lion King on the fast track to production," the film studio said in a statement.
Just how fast are we talking? In time for Christmas?!

Jon Favreau also directed 'The Jungle Book' (which took in £743m worldwide) and 'Iron Man'.
He also appeared to confirm the news in a not-so-subtle tweet:
"The Lion King builds on Disney’s success of reimagining its classics for a contemporary audience with films like Maleficent, Cinderella, and the upcoming Beauty and the Beast," the statement from Disney continued.
The live action remake of 'Beauty and the Beast' will star Emma Watson as Belle and will be released in 2017.

'The Lion King' remake will include songs from the animated film, of course, but no dates are confirmed yet.
The original movie was released in 1994 and is still one of the biggest animated films of all time, with Elton John and Tim Rice's song, 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight?' winning the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Well, we just can't wait... (to be King!).
