The actress and singer received Academy Awards nominations for 1980's The Rose and For The Boys in 1992.
"We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time," they said. "We believe she will make our Oscar telecast an especially moving evening."
Midle has recorded 13 studio albums and won three Grammy Awards, four Golden Globes and three Emmys.
