Stunned musician "never considered his music to be literature."
Musician Bob Dylan has graciously accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for Literature, although was not able to attend the prestigious event in Stockholm.
In his absence, the US Ambassador for Sweden - Azita Raji - read Dylan's acceptance speech aloud to the crowd, noting his complete surprise at receiving the award.
He went on to liken himself to Shakespeare, stating that he was so preoccupied with creative endeavours and mundane everyday decisions concerning them that he never even paused to think about whether his work counted as literature.
The speech closed with a thank you to the Swedish academy, "both for taking the time to consider that very question and ultimately, for providing such a wonderful answer."
