Gary Barlow says he is "honoured" to receive the Music Industry Trust Award
Gary Barlow says he is "honoured" to receive the Music Industry Trust Award, which was presented to him by Sir Elton John at a London ceremony last night (November 06).
"It's so special when you get something like this, because it's recognised within the industry. I'm a lover of this industry," Barlow said.
The singer-songwriter was joined at the event by his Take That bandmates, with Robbie Williams posting a photo (below) on his Twitter account afterwards of the band and saying “There is nothing better than having the band back together for a moment.”
A host of celebrities were in attendance, including Michael Kiwanuka and Donny Osmond.
The event was held to raise money for charities Nordoff Robbins and the Brit Trust.
Barlow said: "I've visited the schools that are benefiting from tonight - they're incredible places and they need help and they need funding, so that's the real reason we're here."
Past recipients of the award include Sir Elton John and Kylie Minogue.
