Singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell is in intensive care after being found unconscious at her Los Angeles home. She was rushed to hospital on Tuesday (March 31) afternoon.
A statement released on her website said she "regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an LA area hospital".
The eight-time Grammy winner was "currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits," the release said.
Mitchell has released 19 original albums, with her last, Shine, released in 2007.
She is best known for her 1970 hit Big Yellow Taxi and she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
