Julie Andrews led the praise last night for Lady Gaga, who stunned viewers with a terrific medley of songs from the film the Sound of Music at the Oscars .
"Thank you Lady Gaga for that wonderful performance," said Andrews, 79, who played the part of Maria the singing nun in the 1965 movie, based on a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.
The pop star performed a medley of songs including ‘Edelweiss’, ‘The Hills Are Alive’ ‘Favourite Things’ and ‘Climb Every Mountain.’
