Michael Jackson's father suffered a stroke while celebrating his 87th birthday in Brazil.
Joe Jackson, the father of the late Michael Jackson is recovering in a Brazilian hospital after suffering a heart attack followed by a stroke.
The former Jackson 5 manager was in Sao Paulo celebrating his 87th birthday on Sunday (23rd July) but instead spent the day in intensive care.
Jackson's publicist has told media that the music mogul is "not out of the woods yet" despite a statement on his website saying he is in recovery.
"God willing, I should be able to make a quick recovery and travel back home soon. Thank you all once again for your prayers and support.”
Son Jermaine took to the social networking site Twitter to thank hospital staff for their support.
