Princess Eugenie is engaged to marry her boyfriend Jack Brooksbank

Congratulations are in order for Princess Eugenie, who has announced her engagement to boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.

The Duke and Duchess of York confirmed that their younger daughter and her long-term partner became engaged while abroad in Nicaragua earlier this month.

The wedding will take place at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in the autumn.

Eugenie met Jack, the manager of Mayfair club Mahiki, while skiing on holiday. They have since dated for several years.

Nicola and George Brooksbank, the parents of Eugenie's fiance Jack Brooksbank, say they are "over the moon".

The couple said: "We could not be more delighted with the news of the engagement. We are completely over the moon and are very excited for them both."

Princess Eugenie is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson. She is eighth in line to the throne.

It will be the second royal wedding at St George's Chapel this year, following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May.
