The iconic singer is expected to make a "full recovery."
Joni Mitchell is said to be making "remarkable progress." The 71 year old is currently recovering after suffering a brain aneurysm over three months ago.
Documents obtained by People Magazine said "When I arrived she was seated at her kitchen table feeding herself lunch," Joni's attorney Rebecca J. Thyne wrote in the court papers, which were filed on July 2. "She also told me that she receives excellent care from caregivers round-the-clock."
"It was clear that she was happy to be home and that she has made remarkable progress. She has physical therapy each day and is expected to make a full recovery."
Mitchell was found unconscious at her home in Los Angeles on 31st March and admitted to hospital. Her conservator Leslie Morris released a statement on the singer's website on 28th June, saying that her health was steadily improving.
The statement read:
"Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm. However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative. The truth is that Joni's speaking and she's speaking well. She's not walking yet but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies.
"She is resting comfortably in her own home and she's getting better each day. A full recovery is expected."
This statement of optimism stands in contrast to the scaremongering words of Mitchell's close friend David Crosby, who said:
"To my knowledge she is not speaking yet... She's going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury."
Things seem to be on the mend now! Get better soon Joni, from all at Smooth!
