If you ever see a Dolly Parton tribute act with a particularly British twang, then you might be watching Adele without knowing it.
Adele has channelled her idol Dolly by dressing up as her idol, and tweeted a picture of her outfit earlier today (January 30):
The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton! We love you! We wish We could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life. I'll always love you x pic.twitter.com/4B7GsNffOf— Adele (@Adele) January 30, 2018
Later, Dolly herself responded to the post, writing: "And I will always love you!"
Quite why Adele has done this, we're not so sure. She could just be mucking about, but we're hoping that some kind of Dolly tribute is on the cards...
Her outfit appears to resemble Dolly's early 1970s era, and so we'd love to hear Adele cover 'Jolene'. We can only dream.
Dolly has spoken of her love for Adele in the past, telling Digital Spy in 2016: "I love her! I would love to do something with her. I just love her. I love how she looks, I love how she sings, I love how she is."
She even quoted her in a song! In 'Head Over High Heels', there is a line that goes: "I put on my sexy dress, I fix my hair with lacquer, and I paint my lips and eyes red like Adele."
Earlier this month, Adele met with Celine Dion backstage at a Las Vegas gig. Maybe Adele is doing a tour of her favourite artists?
