Cher teases a brand new album for later this year

Cher has announced plans for a new album, to be released this September.

In the middle of the political rant on Twitter last night (July 1), the pop icon casually mentioned that she has new music on the way.

Cher wrote:

Cher's last album was 2013's Closer to the Truth, which contained the single 'Woman's World'.

The 72-year-old will soon be seen in Mamma Mia 2, where she will star as Meryl Streep's mother. The film is released at cinemas on July 20.

Cher will sing ABBA's classic 'Fernando' in the movie, among other classics.
