Familyfest celebrates Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day

Smooth Radio has joined Preston in getting ready to salute the Armed Forces at the Flag Market later this month.

Armed Forces Day returns to the city on Saturday, June 25 when, in addition to the pomp and ceremony, an event for all the family has been organised.

Smooth Radio will be at the event, be sure to pop by for a picture! The free event has been organised by Preston Business Improvement District (BID) and boasts a line-up of performers guaranteed to bring in the crowds. The event will have live music from The Voice winner, Kevin Simm, Matt Cardle and Britain's Got Talent winner Jai McDowell.

Preston BID manager, Mark Whittle, said: “This is a stellar line-up for our family-friendly event and one that will hopefully attract a large crowd into Preston.

“It promises to be a great, free, day out with lots of interaction”.

Familyfest runs from 1pm-4pm as part of Armed Forces Day, which gets underway at 10am.

Sponsored by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, the day celebrates the city’s serving soldiers, their families and the city’s connection with the armed forces.
