The Radio Times have released the results of their poll asking for the Best British Sitcom of the 21st century, and the results are controversial.
'Mrs Brown's Boys' came out as the viewer's favourite, despite not being a hit with critics. While taking second place was Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's 'The Office' followed by 'Peter Kay's Car Share'.
"They (the fans) have kept us on the air – it certainly wasn't the reviewers," said 'Mrs Browns Boys' writer and main star Brendan O'Carroll. "There is an audience out there that comedy forgot – that 'Are You Being Served?' audience has been left behind. Us winning this award proves that."
The top 20 list, which had more than 14,000 votes, also includes 'Gavin & Stacey' in seventh place and 'The Inbetweeners' in at number fourteen.
