Enjoy a blast from the past with these retro toys. Who remembers getting one of these in Christmas mornings gone by?
Speak & Spell made its debut in 1978. The gadget had a speech synthesizer, a keyboard, an LCD screen and an expansion port for cartridges to play games like Hangman. The toy didn’t use any pre-recorded speech to help children learn to spell and pronounce words, which was the norm then. The game allowed children to touch letter combinations or words with a stylus to hear them pronounced.
