Adele has sadly confirmed that she has split with her husband of three years Simon Koneki in an email statement.

The 30-year-old singer and her husband Simon have a 6-year-old son son together, Angelo, who was born in 2012.

Adele's representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh confirmed the news in an email on Friday.

“Adele and her partner have separated,” the announcement said.

“They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”

Adele has been famously quiet about her relationship with Simon, but confirmed she had married him when she won album of the year at the 2017 Grammys.

Upon accepting her award she said: “Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son you’re the only reason I do it.”

Adele is thought to have begun work on the follow-up to 2015's 25, with rumours she will release a new album later this year.

A source told The Sun: “She’s back in the UK and intends to write here. A number of studio musicians have been approached to work with her and she’s already penned some of the songs.”

The album news is the first news of potential new music since Adele was forced to cancel two Wembley Stadium shows in 2017 due to vocal chord damage.
