A man who says he is the son of Maurice Gibb has challenged claims made by Lulu that he may have been conceived during her marriage to the late musician.
Nick Endacott-Gibb, 57, has responded after Lulu appeared on Louis Theroux’s podcast, saying she only recently became aware of his existence and suggested he could have been conceived while she was married to Maurice.

However, Nick Endacott-Gibb maintains the timeline does not support that claim, stating to the Mirror he was conceived well before the couple’s relationship began.
“I was born in April 1968, conceived in August 1967. Lulu and Maurice weren’t married until 1969, after what has been described for decades as a ‘whirlwind’ romance," he said.
“Were you together with him, Lulu? Two years does not a whirlwind make. I’m as curious as she is about whether Maurice was with her at the time I was conceived. It was the summer of love, after all!”

Nick, who lives in Hove, was adopted from a children's home when he was 18-months-old by Peggy, a secretary, and her husband David, a chartered surveyor.
He later traced his biological mother, Patti Nolder, a former music studio manager, after submitting details to an online family reunion database in 2003.
Initially told his father was musician Chris Andrews, Nick later discovered this was incorrect following DNA testing.
A breakthrough came when a relative suggested Maurice Gibb could be his father.
Subsequent ancestry testing showed a definitive match with Maurice’s son Adam, alongside further links to the wider Gibb family.

Although he never met Maurice before his death in 2003, Nick said: “I’m sad he died before I got the chance to meet him, but his memory lives on in the songs.”
Lulu, who was married to Gibb from 1969 until their split in 1975, said the discovery came as a surprise many years after their relationship ended.
During the podcast, Louis Theroux referenced past reports about Gibb’s relationships, prompting Lulu to reflect on the new information.
She said: “I think he’s got a son. It might have happened when we were married.”

She added: “I just found out someone showed me something with a guy, and I can’t remember the year he impregnated this girl after a one-night stand, and she has a son who has had his genes taken.
“It’s proven he’s 100 per cent Maurice.”
When asked if this would have occurred during their marriage, she replied: “I didn’t do the math because it wasn’t that important.”
Pressed further, Lulu said: “Today, c’est la vie.”
The Bee Gees were among the most commercially successful acts of their era, selling more than 200 million records worldwide and shaping the sound of pop and disco music with hits including 'Stayin’ Alive' and 'Night Fever'.

Nick has also built a career in music, performing with Cousins Gibb alongside Lesley Evans, the eldest sibling of the Gibb family.
While her brothers found global fame, Lesley largely remained out of the public eye and did not pursue a mainstream music career, though she has taken part in projects celebrating the Bee Gees’ legacy.
