George Michael Painting Raises Huge Amount For Charity

The work by famed British artist Damien Hirst was sold in Texas to raise money for good causes.

Titled 'Beautiful Beautiful George Michael Love Painting', it sold for £477,000 at the MTV RE:DEFINIE event in Texas last Friday.

Hirst’s painting sees a strong black sketch of the late singer covered with bright colours.

The event, hosted by Michael’s former partner, Kenny Goss, managed to raise more than £2.1m for HIV/AIDS prevention and for Dallas Contemporary museum’s arts education and programming.

Michael passed away on Christmas day from heart problems aged 53.
