8 Things To Look Forward To In 2016
Come on, it's not all doom and gloom! Check out these things which have us very excited about 2016...
1. The Queen turns 90!
On 21st April, the Queen will celebrate her 90th birthday - and surely we all need a public holiday to celebrate too?!
2. Rio 2016 Olympics
Has it really been 4 whole years since the London Olympics? How time flies! We're excited to see the city of Rio as a backdrop to the games and we can't wait to see what records Mo Farah can break this time! It starts on the 5th August.
3. Glastonbury 2016
You might have been lucky enough to get your hands on some Glasto tickets but the headliners are yet to be confirmed. Amongst the rumours for the top spot are Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Adele and Fleetwood Mac. The festival takes place from 22nd - 26th June but we'll be watching the events from the comfort of our couch!
4. New music is on the way...
Some of our favourite artists are releasing new music this year. First up, David Bowie releases 'Starlight' on 8th Jan, Elton John releases 'Wonderful Crazy Night' on the 5th Feb and Ronan Keating releases 'Time Of My Life' on 12th Feb.
5. More Adele!
So you may not have managed to get tickets to see her on tour, but at least we know there's going to be a lot more Adele songs and videos to enjoy this year!
6. Ab Fab: The Movie
It's been over 20 years since the TV series ended but it's had a cult following ever since and this year, Patsy and Edina return in a movie! With cameo appearances from Kate Moss, Jerry Hall, Harry Styles and more - we are EXCITED! It will be released on 1st July. Picture: Ab Fab
7. It's a Leap Year!
Good news if your birthday is the 29th Feb - for the first time in four years, you can celebrate on the ACTUAL day! However, expectant mothers everywhere will be hoping their waters don't break on that date. Also good news for lovestruck ladies - traditionally this date is when women can propose to men. However, this IS the 21st century so we're pretty sure they can do that any date they like!
8. Top Gear returns!
This year, we're going to be spoilt for choice with TWO Top Gears - okay so one of those isn't officially called Top Gear, but with Jeremy Clarkson & co. at the front, we're sure it will be something similar. Chris Evans will be revving up his engine in the original series starting in March.
