Two of Britain's biggest musical exports could be crowned Song of the Year.

Adele's 'Hello' and Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' will battle it out for the title of Song of the Year at this year's BMI London Awards.

Other songwriters joining them on the list of nominees include Ellie Goulding and George Ezra for their songs 'On My Mind' and 'Budapest', respectively.

The award will go to the European songwriter whose song was most played on radio and TV in the US during 2015.

It's a highly sought-after award as many European songwriters find it difficult to crack the States.

Sam Smith was the winner last year for his smash hit 'Stay With Me' and Daft Punk won in 2014 for their hit 'Get Lucky'.

The ceremony takes place this Sunday 10th October at The Dorchester in London.
