Official Charts Company shared the late icon's most popular songs, and albums, from the past 12 months.

'Heroes' was the most popular David Bowie single of the year, with 'Life On Mars' and 'Starman' completing the top three.

Although it didn't hit the top 20 in the UK when first released, the 1977 song has been streamed over 8.8 million times in the year since the singer sadly passed.

'Blackstar' topped the album list, and also became the sixth biggest selling album of 2016.

Three compilation album's ('Best of Bowie', 'Nothing Has Changed', 'Legacy') were next, with the fifth spot going to 1972's 'Hunky Dory'.
