Ella Langley joins Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey in latest milestone achievement

Ella Langley has just joined Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey in the record books thanks to the huge chart success of ‘Choosin’ Texas’.
The song now ties with Whitney’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ and Mariah Carey’s ‘We Belong Together’ as one of only three singles by female solo artists which have spent a total of 14 weeks at the top of the US' Billboard Hot 100.

‘Choosin’ Texas’ was released by Ella back in October 2025, and was the lead single from her album Dandelion which was released in April this year.

The 27-year-old's sophomore album has only grown on the success of her debut album Hungover and her ACM and CMA Awards success in 2025.
‘Choosin’ Texas’ has also enjoyed huge success on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart following its release.
It has so far spent a total of 13 weeks at the top of that chart, and currently holds the joint record for the most consecutive weeks at No 1 after it topped the chart for nine weeks from December 14, 2025 to February 8, 2026.
Stella Lefty’s ‘Boston’ may be about to eclipse this record however, as it could record its tenth consecutive No 1 on the chart this week.
If 'Choosin’ Texas’ hits the top of the US' Billboard Hot 100 again, Ella Langley will match Harry Styles’ ‘As It Was’ collective record of 15 weeks at the top of the chart in 2022.
In the Country world, recording 16 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 would draw her level with Morgan Wallen’s ‘Last Night’ achievement from 2023, and 19 weeks would match Shaboozey’s success with ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ in 2024.
Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ holds the record for most weeks at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with 22 – a record it is likely to keep as listeners stream it in their millions each Christmas.
