"Jackson's gone..."

Bradley Cooper has revealed that he will not sing in character when he performs 'Shallow' from A Star Is Born with Lady Gaga at the Oscars.

The Hollywood actor, who plays Jackson Maine in the Academy Award-nominated movie, told The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he has officially retired Jackson's gravelly voice.

Instead, he will sing in his own voice for ‘Shallow’ at the awards ceremony on February 25.

“He’s gone. I’m not gonna try to get him back,” Cooper told Colbert. But it will be me singing.”

Speaking about his recent impromptu performance of ‘Shallow’ with Gaga at her Enigma show in Las Vegas, Bradley said: "That guy certainly isn’t a rock star.

"I watched the video back… and I just sort of look like this idiot from Philadelphia singing with Lady Gaga… but I was like, ‘Oh, Jackson’s gone.'”

Bradley and Lady Gaga have already won a Golden Globe and BAFTA for 'Shallow', and are hoping they will triumph at this month's Oscars.
