Dermot O’Leary has announced his wife Dee Koppang O’Leary is expecting their first child in a heartwarming social media post.
The X Factor host shared the happy pregnancy news on his Instagram as the husband and wife attended the BAFTA Nominees’ Party 2020 on Saturday evening.
Dermot’s post featured a wreath with white petals surrounding a board which read: “Koppang O’Leary productions presents ‘new arrival’ coming soon.”
The couple began dating in 2002 after meeting while working at the same TV production company.
Dermot, 46, later proposed to Dee in 2011 during a romantic trip to New York, marrying the following year at St Mary’s Church in Chiddingstone.
In celebration of their seventh wedding anniversary last month, Dermot shared a touching message for Dee, posting: “Seven years married to this superhero.
“Never a second wasted in her company. Like the boss says, ‘We love the company of those who reflect the best of us’.
“Happy to reside in the shadow of your eclipse @deekoppangoleary… and she never spilt a drop of that espresso martini.”
Following the pregnancy announcement, friends and fans rushed to congratulate the couple, with presenter Holly Willoughby writing: “This is just such wonderful news… love you both.”
Rochelle Humes said: “The best news ever!!!! SO happy for you both,” as Ruth Langsford commented: “How wonderful! Congrats both.”
Ant and Dec wrote: “YES! Huge congrats and huge love x,” while Gary Kemp said: “Congratulations guys! Amazing news! Xxxxx.”
The TV presenter previously spoke to Fabulous Magazine in 2015 about children, saying: “I definitely want kids, but I’ve got a very busy wife with a very busy life.
“It’s not fair for me to say, ‘I want kids now’. I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it’s the right thing to happen.”
Congratulations Dermot and Dee!
