Celebrity MasterChef 2019 contestant Andy Grant is about to compete in one of the most tense kitchens on TV, but who is he? And how did he lose his leg?
Famous for his athletics achievements on the running track, the 35-year-old is set to compete against Kellie Maloney, Vicky Pattison and many other celebrity faces.
So who is Andy Grant? Does he have a wife? Here’s everything you need to know:
From Liverpool, Andy is a retired runner who has won two gold medals and a bronze at the Invictus games. In July 2016 he also broke the record to become the world’s fastest single leg amputee.
Prior to his success on the tracks, Andy was a former royal marine. He was also the star of the documentary Paragon where he revealed all about his life and career.
In February 2009, Andy was seriously injured in an improvised explosive device explosion in Afghanistan which led to him having his right leg amputated in November 2010.
It’s reported Andy suffered a total of 27 injuries.
Andy Grant is in a relationship with Leonie whom he welcomed daughter Alba with in 2014.
The former marine is also a big part of his girlfriend’s other two children’s life.
Andy Grant is set to appear on Celebrity MasterChef 2019 alongside Dom Parker, Love Island’s Dr Alex and Dillian Whyte.
Celebrity MasterChef begins on Monday, September 2 at 9pm.
