Former footballer Neil Ruddock is back on our TV but what football team did he play for? Details revealed.
Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock is set to compete on Celebrity MasterChef 2019 alongside Vicky Pattison, Kellie Maloney and Joey Essex.
The retired footballer, 51, is no stranger to reality TV having also been on I’m A Celebrity, but what do we know about him?
From his wife and children to how he got his nickname, here’s everything you need to know as he competes on the BBC cooking show.
Famous for his football career, Neil made a name for himself as a Liverpool defender after being signed from Tottenham. He also played for England and West Ham.
Once retired, the sports star has enjoyed a reality TV career including I’m A Celebrity and Celebrity Big Brother.
Neil’s behaviour on the pitch - including breaking both of Andy Cole’s legs – had him known as one of the toughest and most controversial football players at the time.
There was also a boxer called Razor Ruddock which gave him his famous nickname.
Neil married his wife, model and TV personality Leah Newman in 2013, with friend Ryan Clark-Neal as his ring bearer.
The couple had already been together nine years before they tied the knot and have two daughters, Pebbles and Kizzy.
Celebrity MasterChef 2019 has an impressive line up this late summer with famous faces including Greg Rutherford and Dom Parker. Presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode will also be back for the BBC series this year.
Celebrity MasterChef begins on Monday, September 2 at 9pm.
