Viral singer Charlotte Awbery to release Lady Gaga’s 'Shallow' as official single

The success of the soundtrack for A Star Is Born is set to continue after viral singer Charlotte Awbery revealed she will release ‘Shallow’ as her first single.

After appearing on The Ellen Show last week, Charlotte returned to the UK to appear on Lorraine where she shut down rumours the clip which made her a worldwide name was set up.

Charlotte also confirmed her first single will be released “in a matter of days”.

The singer now has 680,000 Instagram followers, with the video recorded at the train station now having over 60 million views.

The 31-year-old told Lorraine she was rushing to meet a friend at Liverpool Street when the moment happened, saying: “It was random, it was mad, thankfully I knew the song!”

Travelling to New York for a holiday with her friends, Charlotte told how her phone suddenly went into overdrive, laughing: “It was only when I got to the other end when I saw what was going on.

“I was blown away by it. You couldn’t write it, really.”

Teasing the official release of her first single, Charlotte added: “I write all my own stuff, hopefully, fingers crossed I can show people my own music.

“Everyone’s been asking me to do the cover of it so I’m actually going to be releasing a single of it.”
