James Arthur has opened up about his future plans after an emotional tweet about his future.

The 'Say You Won't Let Go' singer recently tweeted that his next album will be last, and that he plans to retire soon after.

However, he has reassured his fans by confirming on Zoe Ball on Sunday that he'll keep making music.

"I was having a bad day when I wrote that," he said. "It was an angry heat of the moment tweet."

James also spoke about the difficulties he has faced in the music industry, saying that the only element he will always enjoy is performing live.

"There are a lot of moments where you're doing things by yourself," he said. "When I won X Factor I moved to London, which is five hours away from everyone I love. For a little while I struggled with all that and with anxiety.

"[Performing live is] the part I'll never get tired of. I don't think I'll ever want to step away from that aspect."

James hasn't announced full details as to when his next album will come out, but he has at least released two new songs: 'You Deserve Better' and 'At My Weakest'. His 2017 song 'Naked' is also expected on his next album.
