Have you always wanted to own a beach hut and had dreams about relaxing at the seaside on a hot summer afternoon?

Well, now could be your chance… if you don’t mind splashing a huge amount of cash!

A South Devon beach hut has just been put on the market with a whopping £200,000 price tag.

The Teignmouth property is bigger than the neighbouring beach huts due to taking up two hut plots after being redeveloped.

Due to go under the hammer at a public auction later this month, the hut comes complete with two rooms and a mezzanine storage floor.

Not only that, it has a running trot mooring all to itself and is close to the dock of the historic Teign Ferry at the bottom of Lifeboat Lane - but there’s a catch.

Unfortunately the lucky bidder will not be allowed to sleep overnight in the hut as it is classed as temporary accommodation.

The timber clad block construction is connected to both electric and water supplies and was rebuilt in 2004.

The listing states: “A rare opportunity to acquire a spacious freehold beach hut comprising two rooms. Timber clad concrete block construction.

"Double glazed. Fitted kitchen. Water and electricity connected. Running trot mooring. Excellent views up The Teign.”

Auctioneer Nick Wood told Devon Live: “This is an exceptional property, providing ample space to store kayaks, surf boards, life jackets, crabbing nets, deck chairs and everything that anyone could possibly want for a day messing about on the water.

“The kitted kitchen is a superb addition, and with the freehold and trot mooring, it will amply serve its purpose, and beyond.”

The auction will take place on Tuesday, July 30 at 6pm at The Jolly Farmer on Market Street in Newton Abbot, unless sold previously.

Time to raid the piggy bank and get those bucket and spades ready!
