Top 20 Tour Earners So Far This Year

1. 20 - Adam Lambert and Queen

Known as Q+AL, this tour is made up of original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, alongside American Idol contestant Adam Lambert. Despite original bassist John Deacon declining to be involved, this tour has been raking it in!

2. 19 - Juan Gabriel

We have to admit we hadn't heard of Juan Gabriel but apparently he's a big deal! The Mexican songwriter even has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

3. 18 - Bette Midler

Hands up who's at number 18! Yes it's three time Grammy Award winner Bette Midler who brought her tour 'Divine Intervention' to the UK in July.

4. 17 - Cirque Du Soleil

The 'Totem' show takes its theme from the evolution of humanity and has been touring for five years. We must admit, every time we see a Cirque Du Soleil it brings back bad memories of how terrible we were at gymnastics...

5. 16 - Elton John

YES! Sadly, we can't say we've ever experienced the same joy Elton must be feeling at the amount of money he has earned so far this year. We'll keep playing the lotto...

6. 15 - U2

The Irish quartet are back on the road and doing better than ever following Bono's accident in 2014. The frontman fell off his bike in New York and broke his arm in six places and fractured his eye socket, hand and shoulder blade. Ouch! We're glad he made a full recovery!

7. 14 - Neil Diamond

Hello again! Although he might not be number one yet, Neil's been getting rave reviews from critics on his latest tour.

8. 13 - Eagles

The American rock band are currently touring a 'best of' show. However if you go, make sure to dress lightly. Apparently the band have requested the air conditioning to be turned off during all performances, leaving concert-goers hot and bothered!

9. 12 - Taylor Swift

The pop princess is currently on the world tour of her album '1989'. If you see Taylor in concert, you'll be in for a surprise because at almost every show, she invites her celebrity mates on stage. We're still waiting for an invite...

10. 11 - Maroon 5

This band's luck might be about to change as a number of their tour dates in China have been cancelled. Reports say that a tweet sent by a band member which mentioned the Dalai Lama upset Chinese authorities. The Dalai Lama was exiled from China in 1959. Uh oh!

11. 10 - Violetta

This Disney production is Latin America's answer to Hannah Montana. Who, you say? All you need to know is Violetta is at no.10!

12. 9 - Ed Sheeran

Everyone's favourite boy-next-door makes it into the Top 10 thanks to his new found U.S. fame. Go Ed!

13. 8 - Kenny Chesney

We're less familiar with the country singer over this side of the world, but he has been honoured with six Academy of Country Music Awards and has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Yeehaw!

14. 7 - Foo Fighters

They had to pull out of headlining Glastonbury music festival this year after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg but they're back on tour and fighting fit!

15. 6 - Take That

There once were five, and now there are three, which means even more tour money each for the boys who are left! Old band mate Robbie Williams sadly failed to make this list.

16. 5 - Paul McCartney

A triumphant fist pump in the air for Macca as his 'Out There' tour brings him in at number five!

17. 4 - Garth Brooks

"How much money do I have? THIS MUCH!!" The 'Friends In Low Places' singer is the highest ranking country music star on this list.

18. 3 - The Rolling Stones

They've still got it! Their ticket price is the most expensive on the list with an average cost of £115, so there's no doubt why they're in the top 3.

19. 2 - Fleetwood Mac

Since Christine McVie's return to the band in 2008, the group has been stronger than ever. They've completed three world tours and they're only getting bigger thanks to a new generation of fans! But they don't look too happy about which group has taken the number one spot...

20. 1 - One Direction

Despite the boys losing band member Zayn Malik earlier this year, they are still going as strong as ever, thanks to their 'One Directioner' fans. It's great to see so many of our favourite Smooth artists in the Top 20 so we can't be bitter about the number one spot. Maybe things will change by the end of the year?
