Prince Harry and Meghan Markle annouce engagement

Kensington Palace has announced the exact date Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will marry.

In a statement, the palace said: "His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018. 

"Today's announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle."

Meanwhile, the Royal Family will pay for the wedding, including the service, music, flowers and the reception. Meghan Markle, a protestant, will be baptised and confirmed before the wedding itself.

A spokesman for Prince Harry added that the pair wanted to make sure the wedding "reflects who they are as a couple".
