Russell Watson has announced his 'Candlelight Christmas' UK cathedral tour.

The tenor, who has released nine albums and sold over 7 million worldwide, will return to the UK stage this November and December along with his accompanying choir.

Watson's album The Voice spent 52 weeks at number one in the UK classical chart, as he became the first ever British artist to hold both UK and US classical number ones at the same time.

Watson said: "This will be my first Christmas tour. I'm really excited to be performing in what will be a unique experience for me, just to piano in an intimate environment in the glorious surroundings of some of the most prestigious cathedrals and minsters in the UK."

  • December 8 - London Union Chapel
  • December 9 - Bristol St Georges
  • December 13 - Liverpool Cathedral
  • December 15 - Manchester Monastery
