Spandau Ballet are set to presented with a PRS for Music Heritage Award at the site of their first gig at The Blitz Club on September 10.
Spandau Ballet played their first ever show at The Blitz in London's Great Queen Street on Wednesday 5th December 1979. The band made such an impact during the gig that they were offered a record deal with Island Record.
The Heritage Award plaque will be unveiled at the site of the former Blitz club by the band on Wednesday 10 September.
The PRS for Music Heritage Award was established in 2009 to recognise important live music venues where artists launched their careers. Previous recipients include Elton John and Queen.
