Sting sings Police hit with No Doubt at Global Citizen Festival

Sting shocked music fans on Saturday night when he joined rock band No Doubt on stage for a surprise duet during a New York charity event.

The British musician appeared alongside front woman Gwen Stefani and the rest of the US group during their encore at the Global Citizen Festival – the band's first show in two years.

He and the American songstress performed his 1979 Police hit 'Message In A Bottle' to an unsuspecting audience in Central Park over the weekend, much to the crowd's delight.

The annual event, which raises awareness and provokes action to combat poverty across the world, saw the two musicians unite, but this isn't the first time The King Of Pain has played this song with Stefani by his side – the pop peers collaborated at 2003's Super Bowl.
