Tony Hadley, vocalist from Spandau Ballet, has announced that he is no longer a part of the band via a cryptic statement on social media.

Posting a screengrabbed statement on his Twitter page, Hadley cited ‘circumstances beyond my control’ for his decision:

The band, which also counts actor Martin Kemp among its members, have split up in the past due to arguments over royalties, but they reunited in 2009 to much success and acclaim.

While the band were on hiatus, Hadley maintained a solo career throughout the 90s and beyond before the band reformed.

No other apparent details for Hadley’s departure from the band have been released. The band’s official Twitter account contains no reference to the statement.
