Darren Parks meets Maggies' Calendar Girls

A group of extraordinary ladies have come together for a fantastic cause close to our hearts here in the North West

On 16th June 2018,  27 women put their brave pants on literally and took to the Concorde Catwalk in a powerful show of girl power, unity and strength. Each of these fabulous women had been affected by cancer and one thing they all had in common was the fact that they all had suffered devastating side-effects of the gruelling treatment.

Having fallen back in love with their bodies, some of them got together at the Foundry Studios in Salford this time taking ALL their clothes off to produce a very tasteful “calendar girls" style calendar in aid of Maggie’s Manchester (some of the lads are even joining in for their own month November).

Their “In the buff” moment was captured by top Mancunian photographer Pip Rustage. whose creative talents are renowned far and wide. Pip was delighted to work with the models on such an inspirational project.

“Working with all these amazing women and men shooting this calendar was an absolute riot!!  The giggles, belly laughter (and a few tears) made me realise how much these lovely (and bananas) people have gone through and are still going through.”

Pip Rustage, Photographer

“Exciting & adventurous with a hint of OMGness & pride at how far I've come.”

Jinnett Lunt - Naked Strength Model

“As scars shimmered with glitter, and wobbly bits jiggled with laughter, all nerves and self consciousness melted away. What better way to celebrate life. This truly was a glorious experience, and one I will never forget”

Sue Cook - Naked Strength Model
