It's green and full of goodness, which is why people are fighting to get their hands on avocados while they can!
Who doesn't love an avocado?
Mash it on some toast, make some tasty guacamole or pop it in a salad... it's creamy, versatile and most of all, healthy too.
And now it's in danger.
An increase in avocado demand worldwide has sparked a crime wave in New Zealand.
Since January, there have been as many as 40 large-scale thefts from avocado orchards in New Zealand, The Guardian reports.
Criminals are sneaking into these orchards in the middle of the night and raking up avocados to sell at road-side stalls, or to small grocery stalls.
There's been a huge rise in the popularity of the fruit in recent years but now farmers in New Zealand are struggling to meet the international demand.
