Noddy Holder is a legendary rock singer, songwriter and actor who rose to fame as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Slade, one of the most successful British bands of the 1970s.

Known for his distinctive voice, flamboyant stage outfits and catchy anthems, Holder co-wrote many of Slade’s hits, including 'Merry Xmas Everybody', which has become a classic festive song.

Noddy left Slade in 1992 and pursued a career in media and entertainment, appearing in TV shows, radio programmes and commercials. He also received an MBE for his services to music in 2000.

   The hat is now "in a bank vault", and he got the idea after watching singer Lulu "with a sparkly dress, with the light bouncing off it".
