Ryan Sidebottom is one of the most recognisable English cricketers of the past couple of decades.
In 2019, he is swapping the cricket green for the ice rink, as he will take on the latest series of Dancing on Ice. Here is your handy guide to the sportsman:
Ryan Sidebottom is a former England international cricketer, who also played domestic cricket for Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
He retired in 2017 after taking over 1,000 career wickets. He is the only player in the last 15 years to win 5 county championships, and also won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 with England in 2010.
Since retiring, Ryan has been running a cricket academy and foundation, and works as a bowling consultant for Surrey.
Ryan was previously married to his ex-partner Kate, and they have two children together: daughter Indiana Nell and son Darley Jack.
He is now in a relationship with girlfriend Maddie.
Ryan was born on January 15, 1978.
He celebrated his 40th birthday in 2018.
Ryan's father is Arnie Sidebottom, who was also a cricketer.
Arnie played one Test match for England in 1985 against Australia, and also played professional football.
He joined Manchester United as a junior, and later played for Huddersfield Town. However, in 2007 he was voted at Number 5 in The Times poll of the '50 Worst footballers (to grace the top division)'.
