New Kids on the Block give a history lesson on the history of boybands in their new single 'Boys in the Band (Boy Band Anthem)'.

In case you missed it when it was first released in March, you won't want to miss this if you have ever been a fan of boybands (which basically means all of you).

QUIZ: Can you name these obscure boybands?

The song's music video is set in a high school classroom, where the teacher – played by none other than ‘NSync’s Lance Bass – introduces the New Kids as guest speakers, now as elderly men.

The group then go through four decades of boy band history, namechecking several iconic groups in the process.

Bell Biv DeVoe also make a cameo appearance, while NKOTB pay homage to 'NSync's 'Bye Bye Bye' and Take That's 'Back for Good' videos.

The song is one of three new tracks that appear on the 30th anniversary reissue of their 1988 album, Hangin’ Tough, and follows the previously released song '80s Baby', featuring Salt-N-Pepa, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Naughty By Nature.

The boybands referenced in the song include:

- Boyz II Men
- New Edition
- Bell Biv DeVoe
- Backstreet Boys
- B2K
- One Direction
- 98 Degrees
- Jodeci
- O-Town
- LFO
- Menudo
- JLS
- BTS
- Westlife
- Jackson 5
- N'Sync
- Take That

Sadly, no love for the likes of Five, Blue or A1, but not a bad history lesson!
