ABBA see huge sales spike and chart comeback thanks to Mamma Mia 2

After Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was released at cinemas on Friday (July 20), it has led to a mini-ABBA takeover in the UK charts this week.

The Official Charts Company has revealed that the movie soundtrack is likely top the album chart, while the first film's album has leapt to number five.

Meanwhile, ABBA's Gold: Greatest Hits - the second biggest-selling album of all time in the UK - is on course to jump up to number seven, returning it to the Top 10 for the first time since 2008.

Gold/More Gold, a double-edition of both ABBA hits collections, is also in the Top 40.

It's not just in the UK either, as ABBA are seeing a resurgence in America too.

ABBA's music sales are up 57% week-on-week thanks to the release of the musical sequel, according to Billboard.
