Chris Young debuts the video for his single ‘Drowning’, and it carries an emotional message for people who’ve lost someone.
Country singer Chris Young has released the music video for his single ‘Drowning’ – a personal and emotional video about the loss of loved ones.
The video opens with a shot of Young holding a photograph of his friend, Adam Carnes, whose death was the inspiration for the single.
Young’s performance in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas also features in the video, capturing his performance of ‘Drowning’, where the audience held up their phones to light the venue and honour the victims and survivors of the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting in 2017.

Earlier this month, Young asked his fans to bring photos of their loved ones who have passed away to his concert, who then featured in the music video holding the photographs of the relatives they’ve lost.
“I’ve been so amazed at the reaction to this song,” Young said in a press release. “I wrote it with two friends as a moment of healing and had no idea it would touch so many people before it was even chosen as a single.
“The video, combining so many personal moments alongside a live performance, totally embodies that and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Young co-directed the video with Native 31 Films producer and director, Jeff Johnson.
'Drowning' follows the country singer’s recent hit single, 'Raise On Country', and will be featured on his upcoming album.
