Singer Lulu had to stand all the way to the O2 arena in London last night (May 8) when no-one offered her a seat on the underground.

The 70-year-old singer took to her Instagram page to poke fun at herself saying: "On the way to work at @theo2london tonight...and nobody gave this old bird a seat on the tube," laughingly finishing the post with the hashtag "#OAP".

The 'Shout' singer who looks years younger than her 70 years was wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap and flared trousers with towering platform shoes as she travelled to the O2 Arena.

Lulu was on her way to join Take That on their Greatest Hits Live tour where she has performed on stage with the trio each night during their rendition of 'Relight My Fire'.

A fan called Scherezaderomero, said: "Maybe because you look like a teenager!"

Another called Susantquigley proclaimed: "That’s cause you look so young it’s those fab Scottish genes."

Other fans chastised Lulu's fellow travellers for their lack of manners, with user Dressy.nessy saying: "...shame on people on the train for not letting you sit down."

And Thedominata adding: "...unbelievably rude of them, [you're] probably fitter than half of them."

Lulu will kick off her On Fire tour on August 16 playing 35 dates across the UK to celebrate an amazing 55-years since the release her her world famous single, 'Shout'.
