What an amazing photo!

Sir Rod Stewart has been sunning it up in California with his wife Penny Lancaster lately.

The 73-year-old rock legend was joined by all four of his sons for a fun day out in Malibu earlier this week, with Penny posting a cute photo of them all together on the beach.

"Family time down in Malibu," Penny wrote alongside the photo, which showed herself and Rod joined by their two sons, Alastair, 12, and Aiden, seven, as well as his two sons from previous marriages – Sean, 38, and Liam, 24.

How many children does Rod Stewart have?

The rare family photo was taken while Penny was filming for ITV during the family's trip, and she has shared a number of photos, including one of herself on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where she visited her husband's star.

Sir Rod is a father to eight children in total. He was previously married to Alana from 1979 until 1984, and together they had daughter Kimberley, 38, and Sean.

In 1987, he welcomed daughter Ruby, 30, with model Kelly Emberg, and he also has two children with second wife Rachel: Renee, 25, and Liam.

Rod and Penny started dating in 1999, and married in 2007. They welcomed Alastair in 2005, followed by Aiden in 2011. He is also a father to daughter Sarah Streeter, who was born in 1963 and placed up for adoption.
