The celebrity lineup for Strictly Come Dancing 2018 is filling up nicely, and a familiar face for daytime TV fans has signed up.

Sadly, it's not Eamonn Holmes.

Dr Ranj Singh was confirmed to be donning his sequinned shirt on ITV's This Morning today (August 16).

The NHS clinician is known for his work with helping the wellbeing of youths and young adults, and often appears on the show as one of their resident doctors giving advice to callers.

Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Who's taking part?

Last month, he presented the show for the first time, and admitted it was a "dream come true".

Talking about joining the show, he said: "I've been a massive fan for so long, and I can't quite believe this is happening, but I'm going to give it my best shot. Anyone that knows me knows that I love a bit of sparkle... so bring on the glitter! I can’t wait!!”

He has also appeared on shows including Save Money: Good Health, and has hosted children's shows including Get Well Soon and Bedtime Stories. He has also published two children's books.

Dr Ranj was previously married to a woman in his 20s, but the pair divorced and not long after he began identifying as gay.

He told Attitude magazine in 2015 that it was "something he was still working on", and that he didn't feel comfortable coming out until later in his life.

He said: "It happened relatively late, at the age of 30, and it was following a divorce. I was starting to realise that the life I had hoped and longed for wasn’t right for me and everything seemed to unravel.

"I found the whole process really painful because at the time it felt like my world was crashing down and I didn’t know myself anymore."

Dr Ranj follows the likes of Katie Piper, Danny John-Jules, Faye Tozer and Joe Sugg in joining this year's Strictly lineup. The show returns in September.
