If what follows doesn't get made into a movie, we'll be amazed.

Barbra Streisand has revealed that two of her dogs are actually clones of her favourite dog Samantha, who sadly passed away last year.

The pop icon told Variety that Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett were cloned from the 14-year-old Coton du Tulear.

Before Samantha died, Barbra had cells taken from her mouth and stomach, so that she could be cloned in the future.

“They have different personalities,” she explained. “I’m waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her [Samantha’s] brown eyes and seriousness."

Missing my girl Samantha. Look at those eyes... the depth in them. Her Mom xo.

She named the dogs Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett because she dresses them in red and lavender, so that she can easily tell them apart.

Barbra has also adopted another dog, named Miss Fanny, who is a distant cousin of Samantha’s.

We are officially living in the future, everybody.
