Kate Middleton and Prince William have hosted a Christmas party for families of military personnel out in Cyprus.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge even invited Father Christmas himself, and the royal couple went fully festive for the occasion.

While Kate and Wills attended the event without children George, Charlotte and Louis, they still seemed very excited to be meeting the big man.

Kate was also seen holding a card for Santa, presumably containing a list of presents from her kids.

The Duchess looked particularly festive in a red Emilia Wickstead skirt, and black cashmere cardigan, while Prince William opted for a casual look of a blue jumper and navy trousers.

The couple wanted to deliver a message of support to deployed personnel, and to honour how many serving men and women are away from their families at this time of the year.

They met with some of the partners and children of RAF Coningsby and RAF Marham, while the family event also featured stalls where children decorated stockings and snow globes, as well as making crackers and Christmas party kits.

The Duchess told guests: "As someone whose husband served, I know how hard it feels when a loved one leaves home to do the job they trained for."
